Letter to a Friend about a Picnic

My Dear Friend,

I hope you are fine. I am very happy to tell you about a picnic I enjoyed recently. Our class went to the park for a picnic last Sunday. We started in the morning with our teachers. The bus ride was full of fun. We sang songs and laughed all the way. When we reached the park, the place looked very beautiful with green grass, flowers, and tall trees. We played many games like cricket, football, and hide-and-seek. After that, we spread our mats and shared the food we had brought. There were sandwiches, fruits, sweets, and cold drinks. Everything was very tasty.

In the afternoon, we went boating and also visited the zoo nearby. We saw many animals and birds. It was so exciting! In the evening, we returned home with lots of sweet memories. It was one of the happiest days of my life.

Please write back and tell me about your last picnic too.

The Hare and the Tortoise

Once upon a time, a hare was very proud of how fast he could run. He always boasted, “I am the fastest!”One day, the slow tortoise challenged him to a race. The hare laughed but agreed. The race began. The hare ran very fast and then decided to take a nap. The tortoise, slow but steady, kept moving without stopping.By the time the hare woke up, the tortoise had already crossed the finish line and won the race.

Moral: Slow and steady wins the race.

Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar

Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar (1820-1891) was a great scholar and social reformer from Bengal, India, whose name literally means "Ocean of Knowledge" 🌊 because he was so brilliant. He was born on September 26, 1820, and passed away on July 29, 1891. He worked very hard to bring changes to society, especially by fighting for the education of girls 👧 and the rights of widows in the 19th century. He felt it was unfair that young widows couldn't remarry, and his efforts were a big reason why the Widow Remarriage Act was passed in 1856. He also helped simplify and improve the Bengali alphabet and wrote books like Borno Porichoy, which is still used to teach children the language. Vidyasagar was known for his kind heart and spent much of his life helping the poor and those in need.

The Two Friends and a Bear

Ronit and Amit were two friends walking through a forest. They had promised to help each other in any danger.Suddenly, a large bear appeared.Ronit, who was good at climbing, quickly scrambled up the nearest tree and hid, leaving Amit behind.Amit knew he couldn't climb, so he quickly lay on the ground and held his breath, pretending to be dead. The bear came up to Amit, sniffed his body, and, thinking he was dead, walked away.Ronit climbed down and asked Amit what the bear had whispered.Amit replied sadly, "The bear told me to never trust a friend who leaves you when you are in trouble."

Moral:A friend in need is a friend indeed.
